Twig Sculpture at Arboretum
Wove a twig hut at Viles Arboretum, from saplings and twigs collected onsite during the weeklong Sculpture Symposium, end of Sept, beginning of Oct 2015. I had a nice flat space to build and constructed a piece 6 feet in diameter and about 8 or 9 feet tall. I used maple, willow and ash primarily. I was permitted to harvest materials with discretion, so I gathered wild flowers, seed pods and small fruits that I found interesting.
As of Sept 2016, it is still standing and may be viewed at Piggery Road along the dirt road across from the ball field. Sorry, these are very 'Maine-like' directions.
