Leather Tasseled Belt
I was reading about clothing found on the mummified remains of a young woman in Denmark. Not much of her remained. She was wearing some lovely items: a fringed, belted, skirt with bronze wrapped around the fringes, a large, round, hammered bronze piece of jewelry placed at her waist, a daggar and a comb. You know, sounds like what we carry around today! I want to make a skirt with tinkling metal tassels. Well, it just happens that I recently took a belt off the loom ( about 21/2 x 36" w/o fringe). I attached shiny leather tassels, because I had it, no bronze to be found. It was fun to experiment with the leather. I like the proportions. It took over an hour to cut, stitch and turn the little tassels inside out.
